Laboratory Operations Manager and Senior Analytical Chemist. At the moment I have a nice balance of management and hands on lab work. I am responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the lab as well as working with staff to optimise their well-being and work performance. I have been give the opportunity to work on method development, verification and validation work which i really enjoy, as well as running routine finished products samples primarily by HPLC or GC-FID.

I was the Environmental Team leader and was responsible for a small team of analysts running soil and water samples for pesticide and petrol-based contaminants. I had the opportunity to work on a specialty project, which involves multiresidue analysis in a variety of complex matrices via LC-MS/MS and GC-MS/MS. I was solely responsible for all aspects of this project from the extraction, to quantitation and reporting.

I performed sample preparation, extraction and analysis for a variety of analytes from volatiles to semi-volatiles such as TPH, PAHs, OCOPs, PCBs and TBTs. I was responsible for running instruments including: Purge & Trap GCMS; GC-FID; GCMS and GCMSMS.
