We had many walk in appointments necessitating a flexible working approach to each day, juggling consulting duties with management responsibilities.My duties also included end of month reporting, invoices, wages and other basic accounting practices, including GST and BAS statements. I have trained new staff in both general optics, and our specific working practices. In 2006 I wrote a practice manual to formalise and streamline our operating procedures. In May 2008 we converted our private practice to a Specsavers franchise. During this time, I was able to develop my change management skills. The processes we implemented during this time were new to the staff, and a large part of my role during this time was supporting and encouraging my staff to embrace this change.
