I led a multi-function team responsible for integrating all national communications, trainings, coaching, resources, and supports into a cohesive capacity building strategy for our 400+ program staff across 50 unique regional contexts. This involved:- Rebuilding and stabilizing a new team, exceeding company average for staff engagement after a major restructure and layoffs.- Serving as an executive coach and advisor to senior program managers and executive directors across the country.- Serving on the National Program Leadership Team, setting the shared direction for our program.- Managing the staff communication and capacity building workstream of a complex enterprise-wide change initiative.

I led a multi-layered team responsible for developing, researching, and implementing Teach For America's anchor leadership development model, centered in diversity, equity, and inclusiveness, across our network of 50+ sites:- In 2017, we researched and led design processes with over 800 community members and experts to develop our first ever Theory of Leadership, a set of beliefs and leadership practices that support our teachers in effectively achieving excellent and equitable student outcomes as classroom teachers while developing the life-long commitment and capacities to effect systemic change. - In 2018, we developed a shared set of leadership development levers and methods to drive the individual and collective learning and impact we promise. - In 2020, I oversaw the authoring of our first ever Roadmap for Development, outlining what our teachers will develop and by when to support a clear and cohesive development journeyTo support a large-scale change process to support quality adoption and use of these tools, my team:- Cultivated a rich environment of vivid examples of systems change and leadership through articles, profiles, and engagements, and our national leadership awards the Sue Lehmann Award for Excellence in Teacher Leadership and the Peter Jennings Award for Civic Leadership.- Delivered training and resources to build capacity and efficacy in overarching program design and facilitation, and in specific diversity, equity, and inclusiveness learning and development- Facilitated learning communities through which practitioners across 50+ sites collaborated, shared, and scaled promising practices to strengthen our collective work and impactThis body of work ultimately seeks to find, cultivate, and strengthen systems-change leadership in our 60,000+ alumni and corps members across the country such that we redefine what education can look like such that it works for all children.

2017: Co-authored Teach For America's leadership model, directing the type of leadership we recruit for, develop, and support through our program. Our model's ultimate aim is to equip our participants with the capacities to collectively change institutions and systems to work for all children and families. Piloted the first applications of this new model across 8 regional sites and 10+ national programs.2018: Managed a team of three to:Craft and execute the strategy to ensure all 50+ regions and 10+ national teams implement our model.Develop high quality on-demand remote tools, resources, and learning experiences.Build capacity of program leads and program staff through trainings, consulting, coaching and developing, and train-the-trainer work.Facilitate the channels, networks, processes, and culture for self-organized collaboration and learning.Research and codify learnings to refine our approach and to share out and spread the most promising practices across our network.Core skills applied: research and knowledge development, direct management, lateral management, strategic planning and project planning for a complex organizational change initiative, networking and coordinating across a complex landscape of several related change efforts, designing and facilitating team meetings and learning spaces, crafting thoughtful communication approaches for a wide diversity of audiences and perspectives both internal and external to the organization.

I served as our Vice President's right-hand woman, charged with overseeing the strategy, operations, and overall team health of a 25 person team. Key skills essential to this role included strategic thinking and problem solving, strategic planning, project management, lateral and direct management and coaching, designing and facilitating effective meetings and learning spaces, and crafting and implementing effective systems and infrastructure all in a remote working environment.

I oversaw professional development for our region's entire corps of 500-600 teachers including setting vision for, designing, and managing a team of 45+full time program team members and 50+ part-time staff and volunteers to execute high-impact professional development.I designed and managed an innovative leadership development program for 50 teachers. Along with a team of artful facilitators and coaches, we achieved profound results that turned heads across our national organization.After being promoted from Director to Managing Director, I led a team of two full-time designers and thirteen seasonal pre-service diversity facilitators/coaches to dramatically increase the social justice leadership potential of over 600 teachers in the Chicago and Northwest Indiana area. I was one of four leadership team members overseeing the strategy and execution of our first-ever regional pre-service training for 400 teachers and designed a diversity curriculum specific to the work of classroom teachers that was by many measures the most impactful diversity training for new teachers used across our national organization that summer. My team of summer facilitators reported having the highest rates of role clarity and job satisfaction that summer.
