•Provide strategic leadership and direction as part of the department Executive Team alongside the Public Health Director and Public Health Officer.•Plan, direct, and manage the non-clinical divisions of MCDPH including all chronic disease prevention and education programs, public information and communication, workforce development, quality improvement/accreditation, epidemiology and vital statistics, maternal and child health, and women’s, infants and children’s (WIC) program.•Oversee diversity, equity and inclusion efforts including the establishment of an equity division for MCDPH and development of equity plan.•Lead strategic planning efforts including being the lead developer of the strategic and workforce development plans.•Oversee department accreditation and quality improvement efforts.•Co-lead Live Well Madera County, a community-wide coalition of 30 agencies made up of key decision-makers to address priority health disparities.•Act as public information office including media coordination, press releases and interviews for MCDPH.•Write foundation, state and federal grants for department to support MCDPH programs.

Manage, organize and coordinate all operational aspects of the Prevention, Policy and Planning unit. I provide budgetary oversight for multiple federal and state grant budgets totaling approximately $4 million annually; develop and monitor program objectives and goals; evaluate programs for effectiveness; manage multiple contracts; prepare reports; research and write grant proposals; represent the Department at local, state and national meetings and conferences. I also directly supervise staff.

Serve as project lead on various grants within the Prevention, Policy and Planning unit. Projects typically focus on policy, systems and environmental change efforts and address chronic disease or underlying causes such as tobacco, poor nutrition and/or physical inactivity. Grants managed range in size from 50k - 1.35 million annually. Responsibilities include creating and monitoring budgets, overseeing staff, program planning, design and evaluation. Additional duties include development and monitoring of subcontracts, grant writing and coalition building.
