Responsible for providing a safe and developmentally appropriate environment that promotes a child’s cognitive, social/emotional, health, and physical development. Create individualized developmental and educational goals for each child. Assess each child’s outcomes multiple times a year to monitor developmental progress. Use various teaching strategies with an emphasis on language and literacy skills to meet the needs of each individual child. Work with a multidisciplinary team to construct and support developmental and behavioral interventions as needed. Create and foster a partnership between Head Start, parents, children, and the community to educate and strengthen families. (40 hours a week).

Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist

Provide Individual Counseling, Group Counseling, and Psycho educational interventions to an adequate caseload under the supervision of a Licensed Professional Counselor and clinical staff. Treatment is centered on Trauma Informed Care alongside clinical and residential staff, CPS, and Texas probation departments providing consistent and comprehensive care to children with mental illness. Responsibilities include providing therapeutic services, treatment team collaboration, case notes, observation, consultation, and ongoing training and observation focused on various skills and interventions for client’s aged 11-18 years. (330+ total hours)

Responsible for direct supervision and care to children who have behavioral and mental health needs. Children at TLC have screened into the highest level of care and require residential, therapeutic, and educational services. Position requires daily use of the Boys Town Psycho-Educational Model of Behavior Modification, verbal de-escalation techniques, and certification to physically restrain clients. Residential Care Specialists also partner with therapists to teach, reinforce, and practice appropriate social and communication skills to residents. (40+ hours a week).

Give daily direct supervision and care to children who have special behavioral and academic needs. Work with a variety of clients who have special needs that require extra assistance both in and out of the classroom. Daily interactions primarily focused on elementary school children with psychological and behavioral difficulties, specializing in Autism and emotional disturbance. Collaborate with teachers and families to create and implement Individualized Education Programs based on the specific needs of the child. (37 hours a week).
