Oversees City of Akron professional communications, community engagement strategies, event coordination and press relations from the Office of the Mayor. -Leads citywide communications and marketing strategy, assures adherence to City messaging and branding and leads ideation and execution of City communications initiatives, community engagement and events. - Writes and edits public information for press releases, advisories, speeches, publications, presentations, reports, articles, and videos.- Oversees Mayor’s Office event logistics, including press conferences, special ceremonies and events, and the State of the City address.- Interfaces between City departments to produce creative and compelling communications, feature stories, and marketing and promotional materials.- In conjunction with Communications staff, creates multimedia projects including video, photography, print and web. - Ensures proper management of City of Akron/Office of the Mayor official social media pages. - Ensures all messaging and designs are consistent with the City’s branding.
