As a Scientific Project Manager in the Infectious Disease group, Stephanie is responsible for monitoring the status of the work under the awards, managing the budget status, coordinating the execution of the projects within the group, tracking the personnel effort assigned to each project, preparing financial reports and other required reports, preparing subcontract modifications to clinical collaborators contracts, scheduling groups meetings and developing the meeting agenda, interfacing with Sponsored Projects on awards and proposals, and developing and conducting training for visiting scientists supported by our awards.

Stephanie has been involved in several projects in the Infectious Disease group at JCVI. She led a project that focused on fungal secondary metabolites as therapeutics while maintaining her role as lab support coordinator and manager. She has experience in managing and directing several research associates and interns. Her primary responsibilities include protocol optimization and development relating to molecular/microbiology as well as data analysis.Stephanie coordinates the equipment and reagents administration necessary to keep the lab operation functioning. As a passion she creates art from fungus.

Stephanie is in the prokaryotic genome finishing group and works to analyze, edit and complete sequencing of genomes for circularization using computer and lab based methods. She uses UNIX based systems for analyzing the quality of bacterial genomes and devises lab methods for improving quality of sequenced genomes.
