My work employs advanced geospatial and urban data science techniques to evaluate transit infrastructure quality, TOD-supportive built environments, housing affordability, and the presence of minorities in the expanded California High-Quality Transit Areas (HQTAs). Through this research position, I worked with a team of researchers to learn more about menstrual health communication in rural Uganda. We created a thorough literature review of communication methods surrounding taboo health topics, conducted focus groups with Ugandan schoolgirls to investigate their lived experiences of how menstruation impacts their education, and developed an educational resource to demonstrate successful menstrual hygiene and reduce stigma surrounding the topic.
