As an Assistant Public Defender I represent indigent clients charged with Felonies in Orange County Florida. My representation begins with initial appearance after being arrested, and is not complete until sentencing and any possible appellate issues are filed. I conduct depositions, research legal issues and write motions during the pre-trial phases of a case. During trial, I conduct all aspects including voir dire, opening and closing statements, and direct and cross examination of witnesses. As a trial attorney I am required to object when necessary, and make compelling arguments as issues arise. This requires a detailed understanding of the applicable law, and being able to think and respond quickly.

My job allows me to represent indigent clients during their criminal cases. I am currently a Gadsden County felony defense attorney, as well as the only Liberty County misdemeanor and criminal traffic attorney, handling the entire public defender's office caseload for Liberty County. Previously, I was the lead misdemeanor, criminal traffic, and juvenile delinquency attorney for Gadsden County.In these cases I represent clients from their first appearance hearing, all the way through trial and sentencing if need be. I research, write, and argue motions, as well as negotiate plea deals. In trial I am the lead attorney where I give opening statements, question witnesses, and make final arguments as well as raise any motions or objections as they arise.

As a certified legal intern I handled a misdemeanor, criminal traffic and juvenile case load. In these cases I negotiated plea deals, argued motion hearings, and represented clients in trial. I also wrote and argued motions in felony court, including motions to suppress, as well as represented felony clients for violation of probation hearings.
