Postdoctoral Research AssociateMontana Cooperative Wildlife Research Unit Apr 2023 - PresentI work with an interdisciplinary team of researchers at the Montana Cooperative Wildlife Research Unit, USGS National Wildlife Health Center, Willamette University, and Ventana Systems, Inc. to examine the interactions among ecological, social, economic and political factors affecting wildlife health issues including Chronic Wasting Disease in wild ungulates. We use participatory modeling and systems dynamics approaches to develop quantitative models that describe the disease system and examine the impact of management options on disease outcomes as well as the consequences to socio-economic and political factors associated with the system. These models are used to develop management flight simulators that can be readily used by stakeholders to visualize the entire problem space when evaluating the outcomes of different management options.
