This position supports the Graduate School of Nursing (GSN), located at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS). This position is located at USUHS, working with the GSN Assistant Dean for Students. (Summer position)The Verizon Innovative Learning STEM Achievers program provides students from under-resourced middle schools with a supportive STEM-enrichment educational experience. Verizon Innovative Learning STEM Achievers is aligned with project-based learnings taken from real world challenges, and invites STEM exploration, career exploration, and personal development.

Director of Student Intercultural Affairs: This position provides campus leadership and direction to intercultural and diversity-related programs, policies, and services for students that contribute to inclusion, belonging, learning and satisfaction, with attention to programs and services designed for students from historically underrepresented populations. The Director of Student Intercultural Affairs leads the development of activities of the department in accordance with departmental mission and planning, as well as the mission and planning of student affairs and the institution.

College of Agriculture, Urban Sustainability and Environmental SciencesThe University of the District of Columbia (UDC) partners with the Verizon Foundation to offer a program that provides next-gen technology and entrepreneurship courses to local young men of color in middle school on the UDC campus. Students are taught from a curriculum that includes design thinking, augmented reality and virtual reality, electronics, and 3D modeling and printing. The program has three required components:1. Summer Enrichment Camp–A 3-week summer camp held on the UDC Van Ness campus (two sessions). 2. Saturday STEM Academy–The Saturday STEM Academy held one Saturday per month includes filed trips.3. Mentor/Mentee Pairing– Students are paired with a UDC student mentor.
