Staff Wellness Administrator for IDOC. Oversaw a team of approximately 225 employees working in all state prisons serving as peer supporters for their workplace. Instructed numerous curriculums to all staff of the department and partnered with the training academy to instruct cadets. Provided operational direction, wrote and reviewed policies for wellness programs, developed and provided training, collaborated with other organizations and community partners, engaged in union and management relationships, cultivated new partnerships with law enforcement agencies/vendors. Provided holistic support to 12,500 employees serving on the Department. Facilitated/founded National Correctional Staff Wellness Consortium, launched December 2021. Served as the IDOC subject matter expert in staff wellness. Managed unit budget and completed procurements for wellness services. Continually surveyed and analyzed department feedback about wellness programs to develop new curriculum and program direction. Reviewed and developed policies with changing legislation regarding employee services and rights in the Unified Code of Corrections. Collaborated with collective bargaining representatives to ensure wellness services align with labor agreements and mutual labor management goals for serving employees better, discussed operational feedback from staff at facilities with management that can better serve employee morale and ensure continued safety and security, presented at conferences the Illinois wellness story and continue to pursue best practices for correctional staff wellness.

As part of the Jail and Detention Standards Unit of IDOC, provide county jail oversight through inspections for compliance with the Illinois County Jail Standards, respond and investigate inmate grievances, and investigate unusual occurrences that occur in the county jails. Provide consultations to sheriffs on unique situations in their jails, collaborate with jails to find solutions to policy and operations questions. Graduate of NIC Jail Inspector Training 2017.
