Has a hankering to explore less-frequented areas.I started my sailing career as a delivery skipper on yachts up to 57', passages undertaken throughout Europe often with novice crew. Then came the formation of logistical company "Skippers and Crew, Yacht Delivery Worldwide" to unite boat owners with suitable crews and oversee the safe delivery of their yacht. Skippers and Crew also acquired S/Y Neraida, 55' Bosun Queen ketch for refit, charter and management, where I had the pleasure of sailing this classic on charters and RORC races in England & France. Subsequently I have had opportunity to cruise the Pacific Northwest in the capacity of charter skipper and sailing instructor.A holiday in the Pyrenees inspired a career in the ski industry. As a medical first responder I attended and extricated around 300 trauma cases. As a ski instructor I have taught a cross-section of society at a busy ski hill, and latterly provide instruction to British Army soldiers on Adventurous Training Activities.Analytical by nature, an earlier 15 year career in Medical Physics allowed me to become proficient in technical matters relating to audit, instrumentation, software and developing efficient safe practice in a hazardous environment. I still enjoy technical writing.This blend of skills and experience is what I consider makes me competent and undeterred in otherwise challenging situations, enabling me to focus on the requirements of the moment, including knowing when to have fun..
