I launched the Booked on Planning Podcast, a project under the American Planning Association Nebraska Chapter, at the end of 2021, growing over the past two years into a biweekly release where we review books related to city and urban planning.

-As the head of the Complete Streets Committee with the goal of building equitable infrastructure that serves all modes of transportation including bikes, pedestrians, scooters, and vehicles.-As the Transportation lead for the Climate Action Team I manage the action items related to transportation from the Climate Action Plan, checking with each action items point person to ensure forward progress.-I serve as the department liaison to Lincoln's transit agency, StarTran, assisting with long range planning such as the Transit Development Plan update.-In both my transportation and preservation roles I work to update and maintain spatial maps for internal and external use including a map of all historic properties and a "plan your ride" for bicyclists.-I assist with public engagement activities and documentation for public outreach related to the Comprehensive Plan and Long Range Transportation Plan updates.-I develop regular reports and update metrics related to our six permanent and three mobile trail counters, providing data for our website and to bicycle and pedestrian advocacy groups.-I conduct Section 106 Reviews, historic research, and write architectural building descriptions for local landmarks and National Register nominations.

I handle all development applications for the southwest and downtown section of the city of Lincoln, reviewing proposals for compliance with zoning and subdivision regulations and serving as project manager throughout the process.

Omaha, Nebraska, United States

I led the formation of a preservation focus within the Community and Regional Planning focus market which included completing historic reconnaissance surveys, National Register nominations, and design guidelines for clients in the Midwest. I project managed a variety of long range plans including downtown revitalization plans, neighborhood plans, comprehensive plans, active transportation plans, housing studies, feasibility studies, and zoning code updates for communities across the Midwest. For these plans I organized the public engagement and outreach efforts, coordinated meetings and communication with clients, oversaw the deliverables of project team members, conducted research, and completed the document development.

Minneapolis, Minnesota

I was the project manager for the grant funded Minneapolis Music History Context Study which included leading public engagement, managing the consultant selection process, researching 19th century music history, and providing content for the project website (http://www.minneapolismn.gov/musichistory). My day to day role included responding to general inquiries from residents, developers, design professionals, and other department staff. I analyzed proposals to ensure projects met all applicable city ordinances and long range plan guidance. As part of the development process I prepared staff reports and presented findings to the Planning Commission, Heritage Preservation Commission, and City Council.

Anoka, Minnesota

I oversaw the day to day planning activities of the city, reviewing applications for building permits and assisting citizens with planning applications. I served as the staff liaison for the Planning Commission, preparing reports and presenting findings at bimonthly meetings. I assisted with the rental licensing application process and vacant-foreclosed building registrations, using GIS to map their locations.

Minneapolis, Minnesota

As an architectural historian I found paths to make preservation projects happen. I completed Section 106 reviews for federal agencies and their applicants as well as Part 1 Federal Historic Tax Credit applications for individual and district buildings. Included in the Part 1 application process is researching building histories, locating building permits and architectural plans, and searching newspaper articles and city directories. I completed surveys of historic properties in various cities to identify redevelopment opportunities that met client goals. I contacted local and state planning agencies and preservation offices to obtain project specific information, conducting planning and zoning research for historic properties to determine options for highest and best use.

Rochester, Minnesota Area

I wrote and presented staff reports for county and city boards including: the Zoning Board of Appeals, Planning Commission, and City Council. I conducted research and applied the code to draft zoning compliance letters. I helped citizens, builders, architects, and developers with with zoning related questions over the phone and in person. I reviewed over the counter permits for commercial and residential construction projects. For projects that required a Site Development Plan, I conducted meetings with referral agencies and the applicant and helped guide them through the approval process. When complete, I reviewed the plans for code compliance prior to final approval. As part of a special project, I used GIS to document and track Boulevard Tree Green Agreements.

City Of Lubbock

I was promoted from Planner to Senior Planner 8 months after being hired. I wrote and coordinated the submission for a National Endowment of the Arts grant to fund a city gateway project and researched and presented to staff the benefits of implementing a Main Street program and a Complete Streets program. I managed the department website and created easy to understand handouts explaining zoning regulations. I wrote detailed staff reports for the Zoning Board of Adjustment and Planning and Zoning Commission and presented findings at public meetings. I assisted citizens at the front counter with permit applications and general zoning questions and handled building plan review and approval for the department, working closely with the Building Safety department, developers, and builders to address concerns. I developed detailed GIS maps to convey information relating to oil well and cell tower locations within the city, undeveloped land, and accessory dwelling units. I served as the staff liaison for the Historic Preservation Commission, working with applicants on certificate of appropriateness applications, drafting reports for local designation, and writing National Register of Historic Places nominations.

Lincoln, Nebraska Area

With the support of the GIS staff, I developed an interactive map to store information from the physical historic building survey files. I authored the Rose Kirkwood Brothel National Register Nomination listed in summer 2012 and assisted with research and writing on two more. I photographed properties for the National Register nominations and completed photo archiving of slides and outdated forms of media. I researched house histories through deed searches and building permits and performed census research to gather information on historical figures and home owners.

I wrote weekly branch activity reports and developed the monthly staffing schedule. I assisted with interviews to fill vacant teller and customer service representative positions at our branch and coached the part time staff members. I generated ideas to motive staff to reach their monthly sales goals. As the night and weekend supervisor I resolved customer conflicts. In my role as a customer service representative I assisted customers with opening new accounts, developing customer relationships, and conducting daily account transactions.
