I have 16 years of experience in elementary and secondary Special Education. I am licensed in K-12 Specific Learning Disability, Intellectual Disability, Emotional Disability, and PK-12 Administration and Supervision. Currently I teach middle school Special Education. I teach various contents and provide direct instruction programs/strategies. I also am a Professional Developer for the Strategic Instruction Model (SIM) Learning Strategies. For several years I served in leadership roles within special education and general education; Department Chair for Special Education, Child Study Chair, and Response to Intervention Committee Chair. I have extensive experience developing and implementing individualized plans for students. I work collaboratively with teachers and other specialists to identify areas of need and design a plan to meet the individual needs of students. I have also had the opportunity to conduct educational assessments used in special education eligibility determinations.In addition to teaching, I was formerly a Registered Behavior Technician. I have worked collaboratively with Behavior Analysts and Competent Learner Model Coaches to complete behavior assessments, develop behavior plans, implement plans, and progress monitor plans through data collection. Educationally, my degrees include a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Master of Education in Special Education, and an Education Specialist in Teaching and Learning. I also completed the Principal Certificate program in Educational Leadership and Administration.
