Out of the office I have a passion for interior design & love renovating, decorating & spending time restoring the period features within my home. I spend my weekends supporting my boys from the sidelines of a football pitch, come rain or shine & wouldn't have it any other way! Previous employments & life experience have afforded me an invaluable skill set including the ability to work under pressure, to resolve conflict, negotiation, leadership & adaptability. I am self-motivated and can’t help but throw myself whole heartedly into any role I am undertaking. I have both excellent communication and customer service skills and am a team player. I am a strong believer in leading by example and motivating & inspiring my colleagues & have always applied this when being in a leadership role. I find that this is the perfect way to bring out the best in people & to help them utilise their skills & abilities. I am a continuous learner and love to develop and expand my skill set further.

Whilst varied, my main duties included building relationships with supporters from all different walks of life including community groups & corporate donners, and maintaining those relationships so that they would continue to support the Hospice. This position was based within Income Generation & whilst fundraising and negotiation was at the heart of my role, there was also a need for compassion & understanding when talking to people on a daily basis, due to the nature of the business. This role required me to be fully competent in the writing of professional letters, emails & at times, text & copy for things such as marketing materials, social media campaigns etc. The organisation used numerous computer software packages & databases, such as Excel, Outlook, Teams, Raisers Edge, of which I used regularly. I was also required to handle cash & ensure that it was dealt with in the correct, secure manner.I was lucky enough to head up the events side of the department, due to my previous work experience and was responsible for arranging and managing a full program of events throughout the year. This included liaising with local venues, suppliers, participants, with the focus of building awareness of the Hospice, bringing in much needed funds, building the database & engaging with the local community.
