I recently accepted and began a dream career as an administrative law judge, handling unemployment insurance appeals and issuing decisions. I am excited to use my law degree in a different way, as well as my experience from handling administrative hearings in my work presiding over hearings, applying the law, and writing and issuing decisions. Prior to hanging up my lawyer hat in exchange for a robe, I worked as a labor and employment attorney for the City of Fresno three years, but started there in 2015 as a risk litigator. After successfully winning a verdict for the City I transitioned into the world of employment law conducting internal investigations, assisting with employee disciplines, training supervisors on due process, investigations, and advising departments on policies, procedures, as well as handling administrative appeals, police issues involving review of internal investigations for public disclosure, and officer involved shootings. I helped develop new Human Resources policies, provided advice to the council and mayor and all the city departments, labor relations and so much more. I previously worked as an associate attorney practicing civil litigation, insurance bad faith and insurance defense. In my free time I love to volunteer, but also cherish my time with my two sons, husband, and our two rescue dogs. I am a retired member of Junior League of Fresno and previous member of PINC, Philanthropy inspired by needs of the community, two women's service organizations.
