At Zaner-Bloser, we create tools for educators that help elementary students become more joyful, creative learners and communicators. We support teachers’ efforts to inspire “aha” moments—moments of discovery, accomplishment, pride, surprise, delight—that reward students and help them realize the power of learning. “Aha” moments are empowering, enlightening, and self-reinforcing! We design our resources to not only help educators inspire their development, but also to deliver and recognize these markers of growth.As a Senior Graphic Designer with Zaner-Bloser, I work toward highly creative processes/solutions and pursue strong leadership. I work with the team to provide comprehensive design development, production expertise, and project management for a variety of print and media projects. I interact extensively with learning designers, product managers, and marketing managers to develop a visual context for products that is consistent with pedagogical philosophy, marketing message, and contemporary design research and trends. I also monitor team and vendor performance to ensure quality, schedule, and budget goals are achieved.

I oversee all things creative within our developing book and media publishing business. This includes all graphic design, web design, social media design and product/marketing design and art. I am the lead illustrator for our book series and characters. I also oversee our second illustrator as he develops one of our book series.www.MVPkids.com

A multi-layered position of mentoring 5 students who are involved with the organization, leading a weekly community group, overseeing and organizing long term mission trips and weekend events, and in charge of producing the graphic design for all events and programs. For this position, I had to plan, organize, and meet with individuals to raise my salary of $35,000 each year.

Designed within a faculty-led, student-run digital and print design agency that created rich media experiences to help a diverse range of organizations build stronger relationships with their customers.

Design advertisements for events and programs held by the Recreational Sports through posters, flyers, TV slides and T-shirts. Work with strict deadlines and fast turnarounds. Chosen as employee of the month twice.

Designed logos and brochures for Virginia Tech faculty events and programs.
