I have a diverse background as both an educator and a biomedical engineer, which uniquely positions me to support scientists' public engagement activities. I have hands-on experience in science communication, training, facilitation, and evaluation of informal learning. Diverse experiences with local informal STEM learning organizations including The North Carolina Science Festival, Science Olympiad, the Scientific Researcher and Education Network (SciREN), The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, and Mad Science have given me a wide range of pedagogical and communication skills for a variety of audiences. I am passionate about public science, science communication, public engagement, and informal STEM education. I also have experience coordinating large and small-scale community events including a National Biomechanics Day engineering expo and fundraising efforts with the St. Baldrick's Foundation and the Raleigh Jaycees.
