I worked in the insurance industry for 14 years, the majority of that at MRW Holdings, Inc. my late father's company, doing a little bit of “everything” and getting experience in "it all"- account management, marketing, product development , etc. From there, I started my own company, SWS Consulting, focusing on specialty insurance products and markets, along with developing benefit programs for employer groups in the DC area, as well as Central VA. I worked with several identity theft product vendors and created my own brand which was known as ID Defenders, a product I had spent much time on at MRW. My goal with this business was to grow it to a point where it could sustain itself within ten years. However with the fickle economy and the challenges of not having the collaboration of my mentor Mike Ward, I decided to put my insurance consulting business on hold to pursue a job in corporate America in order to gain experience and a steady pay check. That is what brought me to SNL. Within a few years, while I learned a lot from my time in corporate America, I realized that time with my then 10 year old twins was fleeting was so I took time off and spent time finding the ideal mix of flexibility and also doing what I love. Though I knew insurance, it was never a passion. So, in 2014 I found myself working in interior design and I started Sanctuary Interior Design and Staging. I recently got my interior design designation during Covid and have gained a lot of different practical experiences over the years - from model home staging, to real estate staging to consulting on an entire home cosmetic update. In July 2021 I moved to the Richmond area and was offered the position to be a designer for Rockwood Shutter Company where I soaked up everything I could learn. It didn’t take long to realize I could do this same thing but with much more product and pricing autonomy so I started my own window covering design business. This is what inspired Turn-Key Treatments. Ultimately my company is based on a few simple principles: we all ultimately want to do what we love; even better if we are good at it; and it’s difficult to be everything to everyone. By honing in on window treatment design within an industry I love, I look to be a turnkey solution, helping the customer navigate the many window covering options available in the market, all while giving them the benefit of my design experience. My end goal always being getting the customer what they envision for their home or commercial space, at a price that works for their budget.
