https://socialworkerswhite.wordpress.com .I started my social work career as a Licensed Child Welfare Specialist through LSSI in Rockford, IL. I spent 5 years working with children and families involved in the foster care system. We worked together to find successful reunification strategies, or adoptive families when necessary. After completing my MSW degree through U of I, I started my career as a School Social Worker at Chana Education Center part of the Ogle County Education Cooperative. Chana is a K-12 alternative school serving 13 school districts in two counties. In 2017, I received my Masters in Principal Preparation from Concordia University. In my current position I work with students with their Social Emotional Learning needs, prepare them for post-secondary education, work towards job placement, and support their families needs in order to provide wrap around support for the whole child. I am a trainer of ACEs and study neurodevelopment in order to help our surrounding communities understand the whole brain and approaches to best meet the student's needs.
