The RIT Clinical Research Network Associate within Caris Life Sciences is primarily responsible for growing and maintaining an active network of cancer physician investigators who are keenly interested in supporting rapid patient identification, swift site activation and deployment of targeted clinical trials. Such network management activities may include but is not limited to meeting with sites and study personnel regularly, leading training and development activities, conduct site qualifications, maintaining administrative and regulatory documentation, and supporting new and ongoing corporate initiatives as directed. As a biomechanics intern I worked on a biplane fluoroscopy project with state-of-the-art equipment and top notch researchers at the world renown Steadman-Hawkins Clinic in Vail, Colorado. The research entailed using specialized software to track contours of bone (knee and shoulder) on fluoroscopic images in order to create a moving 3-D representation of the bone with sub-millimeter accuracy. Also as an intern I attended weekly presentations with the surgeons and monthly presentations from medical inventors.

Through an unrestricted grant from Dow Chemical Company to Michigan State University, I participated in a study titled "Chronic Effects of Polychlorinated Dibenzofurans on Mink in Laboratory and Field Experiments," and published in 2009. The study was designed to determine the threshold for toxic effects to mink exposed to TCDF through the diet. Animal care included feeding 30 mink, daily, a standard dietary mix with and without spiking with TCDF that were housed in wire-meshed breeder cages at the MSU Experimental Fur Farm containment facility. Basic outdoor lab animal skills were performed as well as supporting lab staff by cleaning, washing, and sterilizing feeding equipment and documenting information by maintaining daily logs and record books.

Delivered detailed presentations of the pathophysiology of PV to medical professionals, created patient surveys, contacted patients to enroll them in the study, and was exposed to in-depth presentations of the other dermatological diseases being studied in the lab. Successfully led a team of 5 medical professionals to meet patient recruitment quota.
