In my role as VEDP's VALET Program manager, I developed and managed the international sales strategies of 25 companies that had to qualify for and apply to be in the program. I worked with the companies to put together a plan of action for how they would increase their international sales during their two years in VALET. Over that time, I advised them as they implemented their plans, working with them to target specific markets, navigate the regulatory environments they faced, collect market research, and introduce them to partners that could fulfill specific needs related to their international business. My responsibilities also included planning and managing three events per year for program participants and VALET Program Partners.

As International Trade Manager for the Richmond and Central Virginia region, I was responsible for working with local businesses of all shapes and sizes to increase their international sales. I consulted with and advised companies on a wide range of international sales issues, including finance, export compliance, identifying new markets, and finding international sales partners. I also led, and continue to lead, VEDP-sponsored trade missions of multiple Virginia companies to markets around the world.

In this position I managed VEDP's 44 in-country research consultants and the hundreds of requests made every year by companies throughout Virginia looking for a range of market research studies in those countries. I also managed VEDP's internal staff of international trade researchers. My responsibilities included:-negotiating and administering contracts and all communication with international consultants, ensuring deliverables were on-time and and on-target based on client needs-managing program budget and over 150 client projects per year-supervising VEDP international trade researchers-conducting research on export markets and other trade-related information for Virginia exporters

AT GAO, I evaluated U.S. federal government programs, specifically international programs, for efficiency and effectiveness and provided recommendations for operational improvements to government agencies and the U.S. Congress. My responsibilities included:-Designing and leading major portions of program evaluations, including developing research objectives, interviewing officials, reviewing program documents, developing major findings, and writing reports detailing findings and recommendations for improvements-managed interns and entry-level professionals, delegating project tasks and providing guidance on their completion-representing agency to foreign governments around the world, conducting interviews with officials, while performing field research
