Founded in 1952, the Foundation for Blind Children (FBC) is a national leader that creates opportunities for anyone with vision loss. Serving the blind and visually impaired of all ages, from birth to currently 102 years old, OUR MISSION is to provide education, tools and services that enable all persons with vision loss to achieve greater independence. OUR VISION is to have a world where vision loss is a diagnosis, not a disability.

• Independently built the Human Resources Department from the ground up as the first and sole Human Resources employee of the company beginning in 2009 • Direct and oversee all recruitment efforts • Mentor and lead Recruiters to source and onboard top talent• Authored and implemented BestIT’s first employee handbook • Wrote and implemented all internal policies, procedures and work rules• Produced all company templates and forms, e.g. Personnel Action Form; Disciplinary Action Form; Staff Requisition Form; Request for Time Off Form, as well as all corresponding processes• Created and executed various employee recognition, employee referral and rideshare programs• Built BestIT’s first Internship Program which has yielded successful full-time employment for 99 % of intern participants• Managed recruitment efforts to attract, retain, and motivate the necessary talent for a unique and growing workforce • Replaced preexisting benefit offerings with a more attractive, robust benefit package at a lower cost to both the company and the employees• Significantly reduced and sustained a low turnover rate• Acting international payroll administrator for employees and contractors located in both the United States, China and Hong Kong• Initiated an H1B Immigration Program
