Scottish Enterprise (SE) is the economic development agency for the east, central belt and south of Scotland. SE’s purpose is to create an increased number of better jobs that nurture shared wealth and collective wellbeing in Scotland.The Entrepreneurial & Ecosystem Development team within SE works with individual business leaders and their teams to develop growth businesses that will have an impact in Scotland and on the Scottish economy. Alongside this, we work closely with other partner organisations in the entrepreneurial support ecosystem, developing our collective range of joined up support and delivering on the Scotland CAN DO vision to make Scotland the most entrepreneurial society in the world.I work primarily in a communications and development role, promoting the entrepreneurial support available to those looking to start up, grow and scale up a business in Scotland, and making sure that support is well signposted, inclusive and easily accessible. With a focus on impactful entrepreneurship, I also work hands on on projects such as Unlocking Ambition, coordinating the marketing, comms, social media and event management for the programme and helping raise the profile of some of the most exciting, purpose-driven companies and social enterprises coming out of Scotland.

HIE is the Scottish Government's economic and community development agency for the Highlands and Islands of Scotland with stimulating growth and fostering ambition with the businesses and social enterprises that operate across the Highlands and Islands at the heart of HIE's remit.My role within the HIE Entrepreneurship team was to provide opportunities for ambitious entrepreneurs to be inspired, get connected and accelerate scaleable international growth.I developed and coordinated the delivery of a programme of Entrepreneurship Support activities (several of which in partnership with Scottish Enterprise) which fostered skills and ambition in Highlands and Islands entrepreneurs to drive international business growth. I managed HIE's relationship with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the MIT Sloan School of Management so HIE could offer access for account managed clients to a number of innovative and world class entrepreneurship support programmes, training courses, events and activities. www.hie.co.uk/entrepreneurshipI also developed and launched the Scotland CAN DO SCALE programme in Summer 2015 to provide world class entrepreneurial executive education opportunities in Scotland for both start up and scale up entrepreneurs www.cando.scot/scale

At the Euro Info Centre (now part of the Enterprise Europe Network Scotland) my role involved providing information and advice on European issues for companies in the H&I including European legislation, procurement and OJEU, markets and sectors, partner cooperation and business opportunities. I also assisted with the development of the www.publictender.co.uk website and was involved in various international partner projects.
