Essex Group Management is the corporate office which oversees fourteen facilities including skilled nursing facilities, assisted living and adult day cares. During the first fifteen days of each month, I prepare and submit billing monthly for three of those facilities after careful review of the daily census. That involves coordination with my peers at the facilities as well as with ancillary vendors. During the remaining days of each month, I complete reports in order to reconcile general ledger accounts and follow up on claims that have been submitted. In addition to following up on recent claims, it is equally important to keep up with older balances due to timely filing guidelines.

United States Biological is a manufacturer and distributor for antibodies, proteins, medias and kits in the biotechnology field. I maintain about 20 active accounts overseas, which involves receiving their orders via e-mail or fax, processing their orders, coordinating with each company's representatives, and preparing any necessary paperwork they require to get through standard custom procedures. I also process domestic orders, add records to our database, and maintain the phone system for a few hours during each day.

Marblehead Toy Shop is a small toy store that carries specialty items. Building relationships with regular customers was the key to having the business flourish. My main duties and responsibilities included updating inventory, organizing payroll, matching packing lists and invoices, pricing merchandise, ordering merchandise and assisting customers in their purchases.

Framingham, Ma

I was an intern for three semesters here constantly analyzing and presenting economic data. During the first semester I was trained with different modules including unemployment, census, cost of living, and employment data. During the second semester I was able to choose a specialty, and I decided to pursue the unemployment data. I prepared a PowerPoint presentation on the data for the MetroWest Chamber of Commerce Advisory Board as well as getting published in the MERC newsletter that is released each semester. During the third semester I continued to specialize in unemployment data and prepared another presentation as well as getting published in the newsletter and the conference books which cover a variety of economic data that all of the interns work on all semester long.
