•Designed and delivered school and district level professional development to support elementary educators in implementation of the Balanced Literacy framework, small group differentiated instruction, and the five areas of reading associated with Reading First •Assisted teachers with implementation of the Balanced Literacy framework and small group differentiated instruction through conferencing, co-planning, modeling, co-teaching, debriefing and providing feedback •Supported the roll out of SRA Reading Mastery as a district wide curriculum; provided teachers with professional development, observed lessons, modeled consistant delivery methods, analyzed and tracked pacing and data. •Facilitated grade-level meetings that focused on research-based instructional practices, analyzing and interpreting assessment data, setting goals and designing instruction for improved student achievement, and examining student work. •Worked in conjunction with principal and faculty to develop and sustain professional learning communities at the school site. •Worked with the principal and staff to ensure frequent monitoring and assessment of student learning by training K-5 teachers in administration, scoring, and analysis of required assessments and subsequently supported use of this information to determine, implement, and revise goals and action steps (for the school, the grade levels, and individual students) •Continued to increase content and pedagogical knowledge and improve coaching skills by attending meetings and professional development sessions as directed by supervisors to support and lead the implementation of balanced literacy and research-based instructional strategies. •Communicated and collaborated with principal about professional development, demonstration lessons, common planning time, and scheduling •Participated in Content-Focused Coaching (CFC) Labs to collaborate, reflect, and refine coaching practice with elementary coaches throughout Providence.
