- Led a small team of writers in producing integrated online help systems and PDF manuals using various authoring tools in a single-source environment. Created documentation plans; negotiated schedules with localization and other cross-functional teams; identified risks and developed contingency plans; assigned writers to documentation deliverables; tracked progress to ensure all deadlines were met.- After assuming responsibility for a draft user guide for a highly visible new software application, demonstrated customer focus by working closely with the user interface (UI) architect to redesign the guide to improve usability, despite the late point in the development cycle; successfully revamped the entire guide without affecting other deliverables.- Developed prototype help topics for common areas of the software application under development; reduced the overall writing time required on the project by 10% by obtaining review and approval of the topics from the UI architect and making them available to the other writers on the team for reuse.- Created a customer satisfaction survey to solicit customer input on existing product documentation; analyzed and prioritized customer feedback; developed a schedule for implementing documentation changes based on prioritization.- Developed use cases for a new product under development; led review sessions with Product Manager and cross-functional software development team members. Identified the goal/purpose, description, scope, actor(s), preconditions, triggers, basic flow, alternate course of action, and post conditions for each task to be performed with the software.- Helped to improve product usability by participating in user interface design reviews, editing UI strings such as tip and error message text, and submitting defect reports for bugs discovered while testing the product documentation.
