Profile bio

About Stephanie Sacco

I’m an anthropologist (PhD candidate) and a transdisciplinary social impact consultant. I specialise in social innovation, qualitative research, and project management, using an anthropological approach to design sustainable, culturally relevant solutions. As a CONSULTANT, I collaborate with diverse organisations worldwide to develop inclusive strategies that promote community-driven change. As a RESEARCHER, I explore fermentation practices in food, health, and ecological life transitions, focusing on sustainable living and ontological transformation. My work is deeply informed by ethnography, co-creation, and fostering authentic connections with people and communities to drive meaningful social impact.MY WORK METHODOLOGY:I dedicate my energy to improving the quality of life for all beings—human and non-human. My work is inspired by social innovation and co-creation methodologies and is guided by the following design principles:Ethnographic Understanding:Good intentions often drive social development but can unintentionally perpetuate harmful, colonizing practices. I use ethnography and an anthropological perspective to understand each project deeply, minimizing biased assumptions and avoiding one-size-fits-all solutions that overlook local and cultural specificities.Co-creation:The best solutions come from those closest to the challenges. I facilitate a collaborative process where clients are empowered to design strategies that fit their needs and routines. This approach ensures solutions are sustainable and can be implemented long-term using internal resources.Building Community:Relationships are at the heart of my work. I value active listening and maintain an informal, respectful, and grounded communication style. I aim to foster trust and genuine connections with everyone I work with.

Amani's mission is to develop next-generation talent to address social challenges by creating a higher education model that offers future leaders opportunities to get an intensive experience of cross-boundary work, develop practical skills to build their professional toolkit, and understand the personal journey this work requires in order to be effective and sustainable as an individual over time. The main kills developed were: social entrepreneurship, design thinking, effective communication, learning from nature, leadership, theory of change, and how to implement your own innovation, among others. After managing the Post Graduate Certificate in Social Innovation Management in São Paulo for two years, my challenge in 2019 was to scale Amani's methodology around Brazil and Latin America, prototyping hybrid online - in-person programs in Manaus and Rio de Janeiro.
