For over three years, I lead and taught different types of fitness classes to the public for the Recreation Sports and Facilities at UW-Whitewater. I was promoted to Group Fitness Program Assistant through this position.My duties as a Program Assistant included:Recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise, and assess approximately 12 group fitness instructors. Design, develop and produce promotional materials related to various Warhawk Fitness programs. Assist Fitness and Aquatics director with new program development, ideas and implementation. Collaborate with other Warhawk Fitness and Aquatic managers in weekly meetings. Create Learning Outcomes for instructors with the use of objectives, assessments, and evaluations.

Over the course of the summer I Interned through the Wisconsin CHIP Internship Program at the Working for Whitewater's Wellness non-profit community coalition. During this time, I worked on forging the gap between the Whitewater community and UW-Whitewater students. My main objective was to promote the UW-W Campus Garden through one of the power 9 recommendations founded by BlueZones, Eating Wisely. My professional and personal goal was to sustain W3's initiatives, promote the garden as a resource, and to provide opportunities for connections within the Whitewater community.I was able to connect new organizations to the campus garden, and better connect the already existing populations Whitewater embodied as a City. I also was able to create and sustain W3 promotions (social media, newsletters, networking, management of committee meetings).

As a fitness desk associate my responsibilities included:Promoting and providing available resources as well as activities at the gym. Some examples include giving tours, membership sales, teaching an assortment of fitness classes, marketing special events (Kid's Shuffle, 5K's), and creating advertisements for special events.
