With over 20 experience as a Software Tester I have experience working on many kinds of projects. In my career I have also worked as a Business Analyst and as a Software Developer. This combination of skills helps me communicate better with all members of a project team both technical and non-technical.I have worked on large and small in-house development projects and on the implementation of Software as a Service projects. These projects have been in a variety of market sectors including, mining, construction, utilities, health insurance, telecommunications and government. On each project I have improved my skills or learned new ones to help ensure the project meets the client's needs and is completed on time. One of my goals when I start a project is to help the team improve their processes. I have helped implement test tools and processes where they lacking or did not exist. Doing this helped improve the testing process while I was on the project and then after completion when the client moved into maintenance. Helping business users, from vice presidents and managers to front line staff, understand the importance of a robust testing process is important to me.As a Business Analyst (BA) I have helped clients define business needs and find solutions that best fit those needs. As a BA I believe it is my responsibility not only to help users with new software but to improve their current processes, use their current systems more effectively, or a combination of all of these. A BA does more than gather requirements. This is not something I do only as a BA, as a tester as well. If I can see an area that could be improved during the test process I talk with the BA and business to see if it is possible now. Helping people improve what they do, whether that means testing software to make sure it meets the user's requirements or making a very long process shorter, makes sure a project is successful.
