I’m the Chief Content Officer at Recovery Innovations and editor-in-chief of #CrisisTalk — Talk.CrisisNow.com, a publication that focuses on mental health and substance use crises, including lived lens, innovations, and issues surrounding workforce, children and adolescents, support services and recovery, access, equity, community trauma, crisis continuum, and 988, the nationwide number for mental health and substance use crises. My writing has been published in The Times-Picayune | The Advocate, The Guardian, POLITICO, Forbes, Americas Quarterly, USA Today U-Wire, and the journal Gender Issues. In addition, I’ve written three books: “Human Trafficking Around the World: Hidden in Plain Sight” (Columbia University Press, 2013), “Conversation With My Daughter About Human Trafficking,” and “Women’s Roles and Statuses the World Over” (Lexington Books, 2007), which won the American Library Association CHOICE award for Outstanding Academic Title.
