I hold a BS in secondary English education from Clarion University of Pennsylvania & MS Ed in 21st Century Teaching & Learning from Wilkes University of Pennsylvania. Certified to teach in multiple states.My virtual teaching experience includes various English courses in grades 9 - 12, establishing and facilitating K12's first literary magazine, serving as an English Content Coach, Lead Teacher, and Lead Instructor of a Pilot Program. Since 2014, I have worked as an Academic Advisor & Engagement Strategist for virtual students in grades 6 -12. In collaboration with staff and families, I support hospital/home-bound learners, as well as those in public and private schools all over the country.In December 2019, my experiences in education culminated into a whole book called Schooled: A Love Letter to the Exhausting, Infuriating, Occasionally Excruciating Yet Somehow Completely Wonderful Profession of Teaching. I also write for educational websites such as Highlights Magazine, Bored Teachers, We Are Teachers, Western Governor University's Hey Teach, and other tech-ed publications. Literary accolades include publication in three humor anthologies, thrice directing the live-reading show, Listen to Your Mother Pittsburgh, and working with local and national brands to raise awareness and influence change. For my own amusement and sanity, I mind-dump on my ed/parenting/humor blog, WhenCrazyMeetsExhaustion.Personal goals include doing my family's laundry before they run out of underwear, and sprinkling a little kindness and laughter wherever I go.
