I had a career change a long time ago, as an Area Leader with President’s Choice Financial I paused and realized I genuinely enjoyed two parts of my role more than others. The coaching and development of my team and more specifically the recruitment of my team members. I saw first hand how life changing that job offer was to people. I took note, went back to school, and pursued my Human Resource Management Certificate and my CHRP designation. I acquired my first HR role with BMO Bank of Montreal and went on to begin a career in Talent Acquisition. Raising three kids required strategic career shifts to ensure I was growing in my career, staying relevant but also getting three kids to Basketball practice, swimming lessons and being a present mom for them. Once the time was right, I went back to continue my leadership path. I have spent time reflecting on my leadership style. I had the great fortune of early and consistent exposure to strong leaders throughout my career. I have concluded my leadership style is trusting, inclusive and supportive. When done with real time coaching and feedback, asking thoughtful questions, and giving people space to learn it will drive results. If I walk through my core competencies and attributes, I would say building strong relationships has led to strong partnerships resulting in impactful change. I am someone who sees around the corner to prepare and consult clients on risks and opportunities within their organizational structure and the external market. As an advocate and storyteller on behalf of the organization I immerse myself into the culture with engagement and activities from charitable causes to mentorship. My passion in DEI is to ensure everyone can see themselves at the organization I support. As a strong strategic partner to my business leaders and HR peers, I am continuously working on process improvement, optimization, and delivery. I enjoy project management and can lead with influence. I am a strong collaborator and value productive partnerships within the organization. As someone with a career full of change along the way I know the impacts when things are not executed well. I enjoy planning the change management strategy so people can navigate complex organizational changes with confidence.I do not do any of this alone, good company surrounds me internally and externally to my workplace.
