Stephanie is an RID-certified, self-motivated American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter in Central Ohio. She has been a professional ASL interpreter since 2006, and obtained her National Interpreter Certification from RID in 2009. She obtained her CoreCHI™️medical interpreting credential and the Certificate for Healthcare Interpreters from Rochester Institute of Technology/National Technical Institute for the Deaf in 2017 while working as a full-time medical interpreter/quality assurance specialist. She is actively involved in her field and local Deaf community, and dedicated to professional development through various workshops, mentoring opportunities, and conferences.Stephanie works as a Staff Interpreter at the Ohio Deaf and Blind Education Services (ODBES), formerly referred to as the Ohio School for the Deaf and Ohio State School for the Blind, where she provides interpreting services for staff, teachers, and administration. She is the program administrator for Practicum Programming at ODBES, where she provides mentoring, supports, and language immersion opportunities for interpreting interns. Stephanie has formed connections between ODBES and interpreting training programs around the country and in Canada. Stephanie also oversees the World Language interpreting and translation requests for the agency to support LEP (limited English proficient) parents and families of students within ODBES.Stephanie has worked in a wide variety of settings over the course of her career and has also served in various volunteer leadership positions within both RID and OCRID.
