As a clinical neuropsychologist, I specialize in the evaluation of adults and elder adults experiencing cognitive difficulties due to the natural effects of aging, suspected or diagnosed neurological illness, injury, and psychological disorders. In a healthcare landscape that stacks the deck against the patient, I focus on providing patient-centered care. • I am passionate about evaluation and have a strong interest in test development. In the face of advancing medical science, I am eager to participate in the innovation of novel and digital evaluation tools. • My research interests include traumatic brain injury, trauma, and posttraumatic growth, as well as feigned cognitive impairment. I am a strong advocate for veterans and feel fortunate to have worked in two VA medical centers. I have evaluated and treated patients with a variety of neurological and psychological illnesses, at all stages of disease and recovery. I draw on experiences from a wide range of settings • major medical centers • community outpatient clinics • civil and forensic inpatient psychiatric institutions • post-acute rehabilitation hospitals • private practice • • I have specialty training and experience in conducting psychological and neuropsychological evaluations of candidates for bariatric, spinal cord stimulator, deep brain stimulator, and organ transplant surgeries. • As a complement to my evaluation work, I also provide brief psychotherapy to individuals adjusting to new neurocognitive diagnoses and those experiencing caregiver burden. I am interested in opportunities that will help me marry my interests in the brain/behavior relationship, evaluation, and test development. I am especially interested in opportunities that will allow me to further the expansion of the field of neuropsychology internationally.
