I'm interested by people and place and how we interact with our planet. To satisfy this interest I studied Geography and Anthropology at undergraduate level and later followed a technical interest to graduate with a postgrad diploma in IT, from National University of Ireland. I then felt the need to connect these subjects and round it off with an MSc in GIS Technologies, which nicely tied my geographical heart to my IT head.Working in the Geography Department (later School of Geography, Planning and Environmental Policy) University College Dublin, as Senior Technical Officer met the criteria for my ideal job. Surrounded by maps plus opportunities to solve diverse technical problems. A growing interest in GIS led me to California, where my career luck continued in the interesting subject of earthquakes and GIS.
