As the sole staff member in Donor Relations, I transformed a fledgling donor stewardship effort into a comprehensive Donor Relations program. I oversee all stewardship activities and donor communications for the university.- Writing stewardship communications to convey to donors the impact of their contributions, including gift acknowledgements, donor profiles, student profiles, personalized correspondence, President’s Club messaging, Impact of Philanthropy annual report, alumni magazine features, comprehensive scholarship reports, and endowed fund reports.- Creating the institution’s first application-based scholarship program, to collect over 1,000 applications to distribute $750,000+ in scholarship funding yearly. Program implementation included developing an application portal in conjunction with the software vendor; creating application and review forms and an application process; documenting all scholarship guidelines, including general eligibility and individual recipient qualifications; training faculty, staff, and students on usage of the online portal; creating rubrics for reviewing applications and overseeing review committees; coordinating with Financial Aid and Student Accounts offices in administering the portal; and creating promotional materials to announce application portal to students and staff, and fielding all internal and external inquiries.- Creating the ongoing President’s Club Virtual Event series.- Administering the restricted fund program, including creating gift agreements and reviewing funds for compliance with institutional guidelines and best practices in the field; monitoring, tracking and reporting on 100+ restricted funds; corresponding with donors on the usage and availability of funding; maintaining and updating fund guidelines as necessary.- Writing stewardship content for college website and social media posts.- Maintaining an assigned portfolio of donors and prospects.- Coordinating meetings between donors and students.
