Working for a not for profit, creativity and being an opportunist allowed me to create the best experiences for our members and corporate partners. I was a key member to the team, often solely running stakeholder meetings and smaller events at our offices or corporate partners locations across the UK. An opportunity arose for me to take on more responsibility when an Event Manager left to coordinate and manage with the support when needed from the Head of Events more larger scale events. These included the annual Midlands and Scotland Regional conferences and Global Professional Development Awards ceremonies twice a year to our largest, HE Partner, Coventry University and their first class honour students.A new project I managed was our Awards to celebrate our members. Using the resources I had as a department, I researched and created processes through collaboration with other departments to cement an award ‘how to’ that could be replicated for future awards options. The CMI’s inaugural Chartered Manager of the Year Award was presented at our flagship President’s Dinner at Kensington Palace with HRH The Countess of Wessex and 500 VIP guests and is one of my top career moments.
