Veterinary Technician
Current• Overnight veterinary technician at a high-volume emergency hospital• Advanced triage and emergency technical skills including handling codes and CPR• Direct client-facing role that involves speaking about treatments, medications, and going over financial requirements for treatment• Assisted with surgery prep, surgeries, and post-surgical patients, including anesthesia and anesthesia monitoring• Worked alongside and with the patients of the specialty practices at the hospital including Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Surgery, Dermatology, and Rehabilitation• Basic technician skills including monitoring and documenting vital signs, taking patient samples, venipuncture, lab work, pharmacy practices, radiographs, restraint, and administering medications, vaccines, or treatments • Understanding of isolation practices and working in an isolation ward with contagious diseases • Assisted kennel technicians, front desk staff, and specialty staff, as needed
