About Stephanie L. Gross
§ I currently serve as Librarian for Electronic Reserves and Scholarly Communication at Yeshiva University (national rank #68!). My responsibilities range from e-reserves course page creation and database maintenance to copyright compliance and advisement for scholarly communication. The service enables faculty and students to access vital course material 24/7. Since May 2028, I have been serving as Scholarly Communication Librarian for the Yeshiva University Academic Institutional Repository (YAIR) https://reposity.yu.edu. My responsibilities include: Communication with faculty and students to collect and share intellectual output, to apply publisher policies on IR; to promote and advise open access (OA) and academic social media optimization (ASEO). I also serve as reader for the annual Library research award for both honors and non-honors students.§ Previously I established and maintained print reserves at YU in addition to providing reference support to undergraduate students. Subjects included humanities as well as Hebraica, Judaica, and rabbinics. Before YU, I taught English as a Foreign Language in a number of high schools in the Middle East.§ My professional involvement in libraries and academia goes beyond my assigned tasks at Yeshiva. I am an active member in a number of professional organizations and mentor library school students and recent graduates. I am an enthusiastic champion of professional development and continuing education (PDE) involvement for all information specialists. I embrace social media as a tool to be employed prudently when reaching out to the public, while favoring face-to-face engagement whenever possible.§ My interests in other areas such as literacy, the arts, education, foreign language and travel impact and enhance my professional expertise and scope of reference.
