Executive Director
CurrentIn my role as an Executive Director, I lead all aspects of a community economic development program serving the Olney neighborhood, including program development, fundraising, managing day-to-day operations, and supervising 2 commercial corridor managers, a community development assistant and 4 sanitation specialists. I developed and executed a strategic operations plan to bolster organizational capacity by applying market data and analyses to refine organizational priorities and corridor management practices, streamlining processes, building staff capacities and creating knowledge management systems. I’m building on relationships forged over the years, strategically repositioning the program to be a hub of collaboration among N5SRP, Advisory Board, corridor merchants, organizational partners, government agencies, residents and volunteers; yielding 253 community events, activities and meetings with over 2,000 attendees. Additionally, I established a partnership with PHMC to pilot its Advocacy institute Young City Planners Initiative, a one-year cohort of for 15 youth, providing 12-weeks of leadership and skills development, to envision and effect change in the Olney community, culminating in presentations to state and city officials. I garnered the strongest and broadest collaborations to date in planning and executing signature events, yielding record attendance at monthly Open Mic Nights, Olney Youth Arts Festival, Park(ing) Day, Jazz on the Green, Trick or Treat on North 5th Street, and the Winter Festival. I am also managing and planning a community-engaged streetscape improvement project along the corridor.
