After being offered the Marketing Assistant position in April of 2011, I had the opportunity to roll out several successful promotions, while at the same time developing and understanding this new position that was initiated to help move the company forward through social media marketing. I studied and received a certificate of completion from Social Media Success Summit 2011, and from there had created unique ideas for The Grove Hotel.Through social media I had created a welcoming place for the fans of the Idaho Steelheads and had improved their communication through the use of twitter and facebook. Although I started this position as the 2010-11 season ended and we began our summer, I had continued to keep our fan’s interest in our brand high by allowing them a voice, keeping them engaged, and anticipating the start of our next season. Through iFrames and html web design with Adobe Dreamweaver, I had developed their own Microsite on Facebook, which had seen a good number of hits.With Qwest Arena (now known as Centurylink Arena), I not only kept their facebook and twitter accounts and pages updated; I also maintained a street-side video board using Daktronics Venus 7000 and Photoshop CS5, which advertised their events and any specials that their sponsors might be running.

I was promoted to Executive Assistant after working as an usher and in the box office with Qwest Arena for about six months. I carried many job duties while in this position with Block 22, LLC. It is the parent company of The Grove Hotel, Idaho Steelheads, and Qwest Arena. Throughout my year in this position I did some graphic design and photo enhancing using Photoshop; accounting (accounts receivable and G/L) with Navision; various human resources duties, such as accepting and filtering job applications; and sold tickets to events with NewEra ticketing. This position required me to multitask all the above job duties, while answering a multi-line phone and greeting customers and guests who walked through our front door. I kept things organized and provided the employees with the assistance they needed to do their jobs efficiently.
