The Stock Market Game is an interactive investing simulation to help students develop their business, financial literacy, research, critical thinking and collaboration skills.Support BestPrep's eMentors program through management of various school-company connections, including event planning and facilitation. eMentors is an email mentoring program that offers high school students the opportunity to develop a relationship with a mentor in a professional field. Over the course of eight weeks, students and mentors discuss topics including college and career experience, interviewing skills, workplace etiquette, having a positive attitude, and more. Support BestPrep's Technology Integration Workshop (TIW) through volunteer recruitment; event planning and facilitation; marketing and outreach; and resource development. The Technology Integration Workshop is a unique summer professional development opportunity for educators of all grade levels and subject areas. During this four-day workshop, educators learn how existing and emerging technologies can enhance lesson effectiveness and student engagement, and participate in a job shadow at a leading Twin Cities business. As a growing non-profit, my role also includes the strategic development of all 7 of BestPrep's programs, providing support, planning and execution to all programs as needed.

As a private tutor, I work with students in middle school and high school to help improve their academic performance and understanding. My subject area expertise includes Spanish I; Spanish II; English (all levels); Writing; History and Civics; and test preparation. My tutoring sessions include teaching the subject matter as well as helping students understand content in the context of their other courses and academic learning. A main focus of my teaching and tutoring philosophy is teaching students how to teach themselves so they can prepare to function as learners on their own. I also place a strong emphasis on student accountability and advocate for them to own their learning experience in a way that is meaningful for their interests and future academic and professional goals. I help students understand how to be efficient learners through fundamentals including various study methodologies, note-taking, and strategic thinking. My approach to teaching and tutoring also includes open dialogue with parents and family members to encourage productive learning environments at home for the student.I am currently working with several students in the Eagan school district and am able to work with additional students as needed.
