Lead a team of ten diverse and high performing marketers to support our Corporate Development vertical. My team serves as an incubator for the broader organization to test and nurture new approaches (like a new branding concept) and tools (like AI copywriting). Our portfolio includes:-Innovation: Embedded with a cross-functional team to build new businesses from the ground up, serving as product (refining target, value prop, positioning) and performance (customer acquisition, funnel optmization, tactic strategy) marketers focused on piloting new brands/products. We have launched seven new products in 18 months, resulting in ~$200K in premium and $225M in new AUM.-Digital: Support the flagship mobile app, working with digital product managers to inform customer-centric features. In 2022, we will increase our monthly active users by almost 25%. Also helped pilot a new digital brokerage capability that allows for carrier choice in the digital direct experience for personal lines; the pilot generated more than $3M in premium from 11 carriers in 49 states. -Strategic Partnerships: Provide marketing strategy in deal designs to ensure we’re investing in the right partners, and when applicable, in-market execution with a focus on optimizing digital funnels to provide value assessments of each partnership. Heavy collaboration with the business marketing teams. We’ve provided marketing support and measurement for 11 partnerships in 2022.

Led team of 20+ writers, designers, creative strategists and managers who created marketing materials in support of our financial services business lines.During this time, established thought leadership program for the internal creative agency, INHouse, and helped set up creative strategy roles for the department.

Led team of ~10 writers and designers who created marketing materials in support of our financial services business lines, specifically focusing on mutual funds, life insurance and the Nationwide Retirement Institute.During this time, led a team of writers in developing the enterprise brand voice guidelines.

As a freelance designer, writer and art director, I focused largely on editorial work, including print publications and the development of digital publications for multiple platforms using MagPlus.

I led a team of 10 highly skilled creatives (designers, photographers, illustrators, photo retouchers) in the development of the weekly magazine, the annual Eating and Drinking guide book, and countless special publications. In 2009, I helped launch Time Out Chicago Kids and now art direct that as well. Additionally, in 2012, I developed our weekly interactive tablet app and oversaw its production as well as designing the features pages for it each week. I also provided creative support and mentoring to our marketing designer team. I was recognized by ASME for having an Outstanding Lifestyles Cover in 2011.

I primarily designed the daily entertainment section at the Sun-Times, although I also worked on the food and Weekend sections and did a little bit of writing, including book reviews, some food features and a wedding blog.

While there, I designed, and at times copyedited, just about every section of the paper at some point, but spent the most time doing A1, the metro section, the food section and the Weekend section.
