Support and advise investment teams, in pre or re-investment mode, in order to establish the value creation plan, the full potential and to assess the management and execution skills of the management team of the portfolio companies. Ensure post-investment follow-up to support the ongoing monitoring exercise, leveraging operational, transformation and business execution expertise. Assume the role of CFO in residence for public and private portfolio companies.Lead and facilitate strategic planning exercises and value creation plans, total compensation programs (short-term and long-term), dashboard and board presentation initiatives.

Develop and monitor the organization’s overall budget and the project envelope budget in line with the institution’s strategic planning (+ $500 million);Direct and manage Budget and Financial Analysis, Foreign Office Accounting and Accounts Payable (25 employees), including recruiting, conducting performance reviews and developing team members;.Produce and present periodic financial reports to the Audit Committee and the Executive Committee, as well as those on the business units for their respective executive vice-presidents;Supervise the operating expense allocation process in the specialized portfolios using an activity-based accounting system (ABCMB) based on certain drivers, and present the results to asset class managers;Ensure sound administrative management, bookkeeping and audits in all the foreign subsidiaries (8 countries: India, Singapore, China, Australia, France, England, Mexico and the United States) and develop governance principles;Participate in the development of reports for presentation to a parliamentary committee and in response to access to information requests;Coordinate incident management, emergency measures and business continuity for the Finance Group and for foreign offices.

Supervise and manage the accounting and IT departments related to the complete accounting cycle, support and IT optimization (7 persons);Present monthly financial results, the annual action plan and the budget for the Canadian and U.S. divisions combined, in euros, to senior management and the management committee, in an international context;Conduct various analyses of special projects to acquire and transfer plants to the U.S., and take part in the presentation to the investment committee to obtain the required budgets;Guide and direct external and internal audits as well as government audits on inter-company transactions and sales taxes;Control and verify the payroll and employee benefits as well as compliance with various human resource management rules and policies.

Administer the entire accounting cycle and all IT development at 5 sites in order to provide the head office with consolidated information (supervision of 15 people at multiple sites) on results, the balance sheet and cash flow monitoring;Develop and control the operational budget and the capital asset budget, and secure financing for equipment, for the truck and trailer fleet and for plant expansion and construction projects;Implement and apply rigorous internal controls over various processes such as inventories, expense allocations, payroll, accounts payable and customer order management as part of new governance policies.

Supervise and control the payables, receivables, credit and payroll departments (10 persons);Manage the entire accounting cycle through to the production of the division’s financial statements ($60 million in sales), and present the results to the head office;Actively collaborate on the budget process and in various special projects, including projects to trim production costs, reduce raw material inventories and improve days of sales outstanding (DSO).

Develop and validate reports on volume rebates and discounts by product category, based on the business agreements of each banner and segment;Analyse and explain budget variances and management and administrative expenses on a monthly basis and balance sheet accounts;Establish, modify and monitor the costs of manufactured products;Serve as interim office manager of the St. Bruno plant.
