Hired as a full-time ICU nurse, I began working on the medical surgical floor to gain my experience. After a few months working on the floor, I began transitioning to the ICU. After working in the ICU for two years, I began learning an area that I love which is wound care. I feel as though there are still many things I can learn as a wound care nurse and I look forward to what Kindred has for me in stock.

Worked as a full-time pediatric home health nurse and got to work with a large variety of amazing children. Was lucky enough to meet Wyatt Moore (at the time a 6-year-old boy with MECP2 Duplication Syndrome) and cared for him over four years until he passed away recently. The reason I left this company was to continue caring for this child as his family decided to go with another pediatric home health company.

Began as the Charge Nurse working part-time during the night on the weekend, then got promoted to Weekend Supervisor working full-time during both days and nights. Job responsibilities as a Supervisor include: checking on every resident to make sure they're comfortable, checking every room to make sure it looks presentable, making sure everyone is doing their job and helping out when needed, answering phone calls at the nurses station, putting in doctors orders, doing full assessments on new admissions, checking every residents binder to make sure no new orders were missed, talk to residents family members who have questions, and supervise meals in the dining room.

Started out as PRN and got promoted to a part-time position working nights on the weekend. Monitored 40 residents, and administered medications to those who needed it. Job responsibilities included: documented on Medicare residents, put in new doctors orders and labs, collected labs to send out in the morning, sent out residents to the ER who we're not stable, changed out PEG Tubing's and bottles, administered pain medications, and assessed new admissions.

Worked 12-hour night shifts at a group home and cared for three clients on the weekends. Cooked dinner and breakfast, while monitoring and assisted with feedings. Administered medications, assisted with bathing, oral hygiene and clothing, cleaned the home while clients were sleeping, drove the clients to their day rehabilitation facilities in the morning and documented medication administration and the end of the shift reports.

Excel Urgent Care is a fast paced medical facility that examined on average 60 patients a day. With only one physician and open 12 hours a day, I was able to observe a variety of patients and help each individual in their transition to recovery. Job Responsibilities included: triaged patients, assisted the physician with minor procedures, removed sutures and staples, calculated dosages and administered medications, started and maintained IV's, preformed EKG’s, wound care and dressings, glucose monitoring, patient teaching, patient referrals, lab work, and notified patients of their lab results.

Houston, Texas Area

Cared for children between the ages of 18- to 30-months for an educated-focused company that aimed on the safety and advancement of each individual child. Job responsibilities included: entertaining 12 toddlers with the help of another caregiver, preparing meals and monitoring during meal times, changing briefs, giving breathing treatments to those needed, monitoring temperatures and signs and symptoms of sickness, read and sang to the children, taught numbers and colors, and talking to their families about any questions or concerns they had.
