Development Manager

Santa Fe, New Mexico Area

At NDI New Mexico I cultivated & stewarded a personal portfolio of 100 corporate and individual donors, identified and cultivated prospects for annual giving, managed and executed primary fundraising activities, such as our annual gala which raised $222,000 in May of 2016. Through events and one-on-one meetings I deepened and enriched relationships between NDI New Mexico, our donors, and our community partners. I worked in tandem with our Communications Director to streamline our online giving portal and develop relevant, compelling, and educational communications to strengthen relationships with our donors & partners. As a result, we quadrupled the online end of the year income and engaged hundreds of donors with our new website.

Jul 2015 - Nov 2016

Development Associate

Santa Fe, New Mexico Area

On a daily basis I collaborated closely with our Development Director, Associate Director, Executive Director, Communications Director and Program Staff to find creative ways to manage projects more efficiently, raise funds, communicate to engage donors, and problem solve. At WildEarth Guardians I managed a direct mail acquisition campaign, organized individual board members fundraisers, wrote and proofed grant reports and grant proposals, managed the grant reports & foundation timelines, engaged in online fundraising campaigns, managed Guardians' direct mail, assisted with events, networked with major donors, prospected new major donors & foundations. For Guardians' 25th anniversary year, I conceptualized and executed a 16 month story-telling project with Guardians' staff called "Origin Stories". I was the lead editor & writer on the project which brought in numerous contributions and enhanced Guardians' branding. WildEarth Guardians is a non-profit, environmental advocacy organization whose mission is to protect and restore the wildlife, wild rivers, wild places, and health of the American West.

Jan 2014 - Jul 2015

Fundraising Coordinator

Albuquerque, New Mexico Area

I organized event related mission driven activities and campaigns, including acting as lead project management for 3 direct fundraisers grossing over $80,000 in the Albuquerque area. I worked with MDA donors on an individual basis encouraging them to raise funds through peer-to-peer networking. Many of my donors exceeded their goals, some bringing in up to $3,000 in direct support for MDA New Mexico. I found my "coach" gene in this role.In my tenure, I created a volunteer database comprised of 100+ individuals willing to support the MDA cause. For our annual Fill The Boot campaign, I lessened staff time investments by signing up shifts of bank teller volunteers with cash counters from Bank of America to count the tens of thousands of dollars in singles and change that are collected by local firefighters over the course of 10 days. Overall, I developed and strengthened relationships with individuals, local businesses and professionals to support the MDA mission for the 780+ clients in New Mexico.

Feb 2013 - Dec 2013

Grants Chair

The University Of New Mexico

In this position I oversaw the distribution of $60,000 in funding to over 100 graduate student researchers. I recruited and managed a five person committee. Together we trained over 30 grant readers and hosted numerous grant writing workshops for graduate students. I actively recruited new grant readers, members of the grants committee and new grant applicants. I cooperated with UNM organizations: the Graduate Resource Center, Graduate Student Funding Initiative and Office of Graduate Studies. As the chair, I honed my delegation skills. I gained perspective on working with a team around the question "What is fair?" as we revamped rubrics, dispersed funds and streamlined access to grant applications.

Jan 2012 - Dec 2012

Graduate Teaching Fellow

Center For English Language And American Culture (Celac)

At CELAC, I applied my 4+ years of English teaching experience to prepare incoming international students for rigors of university life in America. One highlight of this tenure was empowering students to organize and find funding for an activity of their choice, an international student soccer tournament. Together, they solicited and presented quotes, developed a budget, deciphered the bureaucracy of the University for reserving space and resources and presented the project to the director of CELAC. Not only was the day a huge success, but CELAC also developed a standard process for student requests for funding. The completion of my graduate degree and teaching appointment at CELAC marked six years of teaching English to adult international students and business professionals.

Jun 2011 - Dec 2012

English Teacher

District Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic

After receiving my Bachelor’s degree, I traveled in Serbia, Romania and the Czech Republic where I first taught English with the Peace Corps, then received certification from the University of Cambridge in the Czech Republic. I obtained my Zivnostensky List (business license) and formed a consultancy operating as a freelance contractor for multiple schools. I lived in the Czech Republic for two years learning, traveling and teaching.
