As someone who loves to learn and help others perform to their highest potential, best being an Instructional Designer has allowed me to do both, help others and organizations while continuing my journey of learning.After 9 years of creating an innovative junior high classroom I decided to change my journey and focus on adult learning within an organization. While playing various roles in a global Fortune 500 organization, I received a Masters of Arts in Training and Development from Roosevelt University.My first training project was to design the elearning for customer service, sales, purchasing, and product management for the organizations SAP implementation. Throughout the years I have focused my learning journey on creating innovative and engaging elearning experiences that drive business results by enhancing or changing behavior. I've become proficient in creating these experiences in Articulate Professional Suite, Storyline, Captive, Camtasia Studio 8, and WebEx.My latest projects focused on translating content from subject matter expert to relatable chunks of content that enable the learners to change their behavior. The experience included video segments, virtual classrooms, short elearning modules, and leader led discussions. The creation of elearning modules allowed me to enhance my Storyline skills.I also believe in giving back to the learning community. I've been a facilitator for a weekly learning twitter chat (#lrnchat), spoken at learning conferences, and most recently wrote the July issue of ASTD's TD at Work-Game Design for Learning. I was also instrumental in establishing a mentor program for those individuals working in the organization with an interest in learning and development.
