You know how Executive Directors get into nonprofits because they want to make a difference and end up spending all their time raising money, writing reports, and calculating budgets? We at Kasih Initiative help nonprofit Executive Directors and their staff who want to win more grants without working any more overtime than they already are.Kasih is an Indonesian word that means both to give and to love, which is how we view our work - as conduits for money to flow to causes we care about. With this spirit, the staff at Kasih Initiative has raised over $50 million in grants. We have worked with our clients from their very first $5,000 grant to managing multi-million dollar federal grants. We have raised money for causes such as ecosystem restoration, environmental justice, conservation, healthcare, education, refugee/immigrant rights, and language access work.Stephanie Tanny is the owner/founder of Kasih Initiative - created with a passion to support worthy causes and the people behind them. She has over 15 years of professional experience in leadership, fundraising, and coaching. She loves raising money and implementing systems to ensure nothing falls through the cracks.Stephanie has always been passionate about ensuring marginalized voices are heard. In her college years, she started an initiative that has now provided over $2 million for sexual violence prevention. When Stephanie sees a problem, she takes action to make a real difference and impact in the world.Stephanie has won national leadership awards, including the Top 15 Asian American Women Leaders in 2011. She has been interviewed by MSNBC, the Westword, The White House Project, and she has appeared live on C-SPAN and at TEDxMileHigh. As an international speaker, she has shared the stage with public figures such as President Bill Clinton, Pulitzer Prize-Winning Journalist Jose Antonio Vargas, and John Oliver from Last Week Tonight.Stephanie and her family immigrated from Indonesia to the United States when she was two years old. She grew up in Denver, Colorado and enjoys spending time in nature, playing the ukulele, and going on adventures. Stephanie is deeply connected to her roots and ultimately dreams of making a big impact on environmental issues back in her home country of Indonesia.
